Karim Benzema was simply unstoppable and untouchable in the last season and led his club to an impressive double winning both the LaLiga and the Champions League. But this season he has been fighting with injury and is heading to the World Cup with very less game time. When asked about his form he said, “I’m fine, I had a few little aches and pains, a bit all over the place. It’s normal with the number of games there have been.”

He added, “I’ve taken care of myself, I’ll be fit and present for the national team, so there’s no problem. I’ll be focused and concentrated on what I have to do. The number of matches played in the build-up to the winter World Cup has been staggering, yet Benzema refused to outrightly criticize the scheduling. The problem is that we aren’t machines. At some point there are injuries, it’s normal.”
