EFL Two side Doncaster Rovers‘ manager Grant McCann received a lot of praise for his brilliant shooting prowess, after the 43-year old pulled off a stunning strike during the club’s training session. He scored a fantastic volley after a rebound, showcasing his impressive skills.
The 43-year old Northern Irish manager, who joined Doncaster as a manager last summer, retired from playing in 2015 after a successful career as a midfielder. Despite spending nine years on the sidelines as a manager, the former Peterborough United player showed that his abilities remain intact. While overseeing a shooting practice session, the manager watched as one of his players hit the ball against the crossbar.
As the ball rebounded off the woodwork, it floated towards the former Hull City manager and he took no time in shooting it into the back of the net while executing a remarkable volley. The powerful strike caught the goalkeeper off guard, and found its way into the net. This prompted McCann to celebrate, while his teammates and colleagues were left in awe. Moreover, the video of his stunning volley caught social media by storm, as fans shared their reactions.
However, his time at Doncaster has been far from ideal. McCann had been facing challenges getting his team to perform on the field, with the Yorkshire club languishing in 20th position in the fourth tier of the English football league system.
Doncaster Rovers hope to continue their five-game unbeaten streak in EFL League Two
Doncaster Rovers and its manager Grant McCann will be hoping for the side to continue their impressive five-game unbeaten streak, as they face 7th-placed Walsall next. They will be hoping to move away from the bottom-half of the EFL League Two table, as they currently remain on the 20th position.
Rovers have taken five points from their last three away outings, and will be eager to continue their record against one of the division’s form sides. Grant’s Rovers have won three out of their last five matches, including a thumping 5-1 win against Grimsby Town. Walsall, on the other hand, comes off a four-match winning streak.
The match is anticipated to take place tomorrow, at the Bescot Stadium in Walsall. Doncaster will be relying on 30-year-old Irish striker Joe Ironside, who boasts 17 goals in 39 appearances, to spearhead the team’s efforts.
