Celebrities and other athletes worldwide often attend Grand Prix weekends in Formula 1. Hollywood celebrities and former sports legends often attend the popular race weekends in F1. As the teams head towards the commencement of the 2024 season, ex-Liverpool Legend Steven Gerrard was spotted in Bahrain during the practice session.
The Liverpool legend worth $90 Million was spotted in McLaren’s garage during the free practice 2 session. Steven Gerrard cheered on as Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri scored P2 and P3 in the first practice session. Additionally, the footballer was seen holding a McLaren cap in his hands, further showcasing his love for the team.
Woking hasn’t had any surprises or challenges from their chassis just yet as they look ahead to the qualifying on Friday. The team is hopeful of a challenge to the front-runners down the season and potentially win races. Lando Norris is currently eyeing his first victory in Formula 1 following Oscar Piastri’s single sprint race victory in 2023. The upcoming season of Formula 1 would be highly exciting for the fans as McLaren has a great driver’s lineup for the entirety of the season. Certainly, Steven Gerrard hoped to see a good result from the team this weekend.

McLaren striving for multiple victories down the 2024 season
McLaren failed to manage any single race victory in 2023, partly due to Red Bull’s dominant and untouched run. Oscar Piastri however scored his first sprint victory in the season at the Qatar GP. However, the MCL38 of 2024 has been showcasing great pace, especially on the soft compound. Additionally, the team also refused any claims of the chassis being similar to Red Bull’s RB20.
McLaren showcased last year that the team is capable of fighting with Red Bull as the team had a great comeback down the season. Hence, the 2024 season wouldn’t be much different as Woking would showcase the learnings from the previous seasons. The team is positive with their challenger developed and the times put forth by the drivers.
As a result, the 2024 campaign would be highly positive for the team. However, following Red Bull’s highly dominant run so far this season, the team would likely win the championship as well. Hence, McLaren would need to hold their horses on aiming for the championship for this season just yet. Regardless, the team aims to score multiple victories for the 2024 season of Formula 1. Perhaps, Steven Gerrard could witness a solid result from the two drivers in the race.
