“Even if he doesn’t make me play anymore…” Eden Hazard opens up about relationship with Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti
Eden Hazard talks about his relationship with Carlo Ancelotti
Eden Hazard has admitted his relationship with Carlo Ancelotti was astray and they are not on talking terms possibly due to the fact that the player wasn’t given appropriate game time. The Belgian international arrived at Real Madrid with a high reputation after having a wonderful stint at Chelsea. He was considered to be the right replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo and even obtained his iconic number 7 jersey.
However, things did not go according to plan. Injuries and lack of game time ruined the player’s career and the stats did not justify the €100 million price tag he was bought for. The player is having a horrendous stint at Madrid and has just 6 goals and 4 assists in his entire four seasons with Los Blancos.
Eden Hazard on Ancelotti: “I’m not going to say that we talk to each other, because we don’t. But there will always be respect. Even if he doesn’t make me play anymore, I have to have respect for Carlo; what he represents for football, what he has done in his career!”
Carlo Ancelotti barely used him during matches and was named as an unused substitute. He never featured in important games, notably El Clasico where he never participated which is fair play considering his poor form. He never really recovered from his form and other players like Vini Jr and even Marco Asensio have overtaken the spot. Considering the player’s age, it is still doubtful if he will ever recover his prime form.

Eden Hazard Reflects On Decision To Retire From International Duty
Real Madrid forward Eden Hazard revealed he had made up his mind to retire from international football after the European Championship. Hazard hung up his boots following Belgium’s shocking group-stage exit in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Hazard’s decision to retire shocked the entire football world.
Hazard hasn’t had many chances to showcase his talent due to his persistent injury issues which have hampered his growth. The 32-year-old wasn’t at his best in the World Cup and insisted he wanted to make space for the young crop of players on the national side.
Hazard has 126 caps for his national team and he found the net on 33 occasions. The former Chelsea player joined Madrid in 2019 but has failed to live up to the expectations as he hasn’t featured for the team often. Hazard also posted on Instagram confirming his decision. “A page turns today… Thank you for your love. Thank you for your unparalleled support. Thank you for all this happiness shared since 2008. I have decided to put an end to my international career. The succession is ready. I will miss you.”
