Eintracht Frankfurt wins their second Europa League title in their history as they beat the Scottish side Rangers in penalties where Aaron Ramsey missed the only penalty which saw the German side lift the trophy on Wednesday night at Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan in Sevilla. Rangers took the lead as Joe Aribo put the Gers ahead in the second half but Frankfurt came from behind to score level from Rafael Borre’s equalizer which was assisted by Filip Kostic. Neither team could take the lead further to end the game as they went on to reach the tie-breaker after 120 minutes of thrilling action.

Frankfurt scored from all of their spot-kicks while Rangers fell one short as the Welshman, Aaron Ramsey, missed from the spot allowing the goalscorer Borre to steal the show after he scored the winner in the tie-breaker to lift the cup and qualify for the champions league next season as he placed his shot into the top-left corner.

Eintracht Frankfurt becomes the second team ever to score in every game they played in the Europa League this season. They scored in all of their 13 matches from the group stages to the final played in Sevilla becoming the second team after Chelsea to achieve the milestone of scoring in all the games in the competition.

Rafael Santos Borre, the Columbian international, was the hero of the night as he played his heroics twice in the match starting with the equalizer from Kostic’s centre which he slid and touched his toe to push the ball into to post. He then went on to score the winner during the shootouts which gave Frankfurt the Europa League title for the second time in their history.

Eintracht Frankfurt celebrates as they win the UEL title.

The German team wins their first European trophy in 42 years as they took off the Rangers to lift the UEL 2021/22 trophy. They were trailing by a goal in the second half after Aribo broke the deadlock between the two sides in the 57th minute but that lasted only for a few minutes as Rafael Borre scored the equalizing goal helping them to take the game to the shootout. The Colombian, who had scored in the quarter-final, semi-final, and final to force a penalty shootout, rushed up and scored once more. The German side defeated teams like Real Betis, Barcelona, West Ham, and now Rangers to win the cup.
