Manchester City forward Erling Haaland vented out his frustration by pushing a camera aside, after a disappointing outing against Chelsea. The match ended in a 1-1 draw, as the Norwegian forward missed three big chances.
The Citizens endured a tough night, as they dropped valuable points in the race to the Premier League titles. The draw with Chelsea pushed City down to the 3rd position, as Arsenal overtook them. Rodri’s 83rd minute goal helped them salvage a point, in what was a dismal performance. Erling Haaland particularly, did not enjoy the outing, as he had ten shots, but failed to score a single goal. He missed a slew of chances in the match, including an good header opportunity in the second half.
The 23-year old forward was seen fuming, as he angrily left the pitch after the end of the match. The anger was visible after the forward pushed a Sky Sports camera aside, while on his way out. The cameraperson was trying to capture Haaland’s emotions, but the player instead shoved him aside. Despite this, he is still running strong as he remains the top scorer in the EPL with 16 goals.
Haaland looked frustrated throughout the game and the match added to his woes. It has been a difficult week for the Norway international after the death of his grandmother. The City No.9 will be hoping to turn his fortunes around as the club faces off against Brentford, this week.
Pep Guardiola backs Erling Haaland despite the forward missing nine chances against Chelsea
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola refused to blame star forward Erling Haaland, despite his poor performance in a frustrating 1-1 draw against Chelsea. The 23-year-old forward missed nine chances against the Blues, some of which were close opportunities.
The otherwise prolific Erling Haaland missed several opportunities, including one free header from six yards out. Manager Guardiola although showed his support for the forward, saying that he scored 11 goals in 11 years himself as a player, and so he may not be the right person to advise strikers how to score goals. Moreover, he showered a lot of praise on the Norwegian for creating the chances.
The Spaniard remained optimistic about the 23-year forward, expressing his belief that he would score in the upcoming matches.
