Goals from Darwin Nunez, Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo, and Alexis Mac Allister sealed the deal for the visitors. Every player in the starting line-up represented a different nationality, starting with Mohamed Salah from Egypt.

Goal scorer Alexis Mac Allister is a World Cup winner with Argentina while Darwin Nunez, who grabbed Liverpool’s opener, plays for Uruguay. Luis Diaz represents Colombia at the International level. Curtis Jones was the only English player in the line-up, while Andy Robertson and Conor Bradley hails from Scotland and Northern Ireland respectively.

Ibrahima Konate joined Captain Virgil van Dijk in defense. The two represented the Netherlands and France at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. New signing Wataru Endo is the only Japanese player in the squad. Goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher from Ireland completed the list as Liverpool attained the unique record.
