Brazil and Manchester United star Antony has come under severe backlash and media pressure following three separate accusations of physical assault against women. After Antony’s ex-girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin came forward to accuse the £85 million winger of physical assault, two other women in Brazil have also accused the player of assault.

Following these accusations, the Brazilian winger was dropped from the National team while Manchester United is yet to take action on the player. The club has released a statement, however, acknowledging the allegations made and has assured to take it seriously. Gabriela Cavallin has called for the dismissal of Antony in light of the ongoing investigation. She said that life cannot go on normally for the player after what he has done. She said that the club should formally suspend her ex-boyfriend.

The DJ/musical artist also said that she refuses to believe that such a big institution like Manchester United will attempt to cover up a situation of this degree. She also called out the club for waiting so long to announce a statement regarding the issue, even though she made the allegations almost 3 months ago. Last Friday, Antony went on the record to give a teary interview, denying any and all involvement in the allegations made against him.

Manchester United earlier decided that 21-year-old Mason Greenwood will not continue at Old Trafford, after the Crown Prosecution Service dropped charges against the striker due to ‘loss of key witnesses’. Gabriela Cavallin is hoping that a similar fate awaits Antony.

Antony responds to claims in a ‘Teary’ interview

23-year-old Antony has gone public to deny the allegations made against him. In an interview with Fofocalizando, Antony got teary while proving his innocence. The player stressed that he had 100 percent not touched his ex-girlfriend. Also promised that he would bring the truth forward showing that he hasn’t attacked anyone and never will.

Antony insisted that the picture of Gabriela’s bleeding hand was sent to him once he had reached home. Further, he emphasized that there were no physical altercations between the two, they only had a verbal argument.

The young Brazilian is gutted by the suspension from the National team. He wants to get back into the Brazil squad as soon as possible.
