St. James’ Park hosted a crucial match between Newcastle United and Manchester United. Despite injuries, Eddie Howe’s team secured victory, marking their third consecutive win against the Red Devils in over 101 years. Fans blame Erik ten Hag for the ‘damage’.

In this recent game, Newcastle dominated, winning 1-0 with Anthony Gordon scoring the decisive goal in the 55th minute. Kieren Trippier came close with a free-kick hitting the crossbar in the 39th minute. At halftime, Newcastle had nearly 60% possession and almost 1.33 expected goals, while United had only 0.09.

Just 10 minutes into the 2nd half, Gordon’s strike into an empty net thanks to a brilliant cross by Trippier got Newcastle their only goal in the match. While Antony’s strike in the 88th minute almost drew the game for Manchester United, as it went into the goal, his shot deflected off Harry Maguire who was offside.

The final scoreline read a 1-0 win for the Magpies. However, this did not sit well amongst the Red Devils fanbase.

Manchester United fans enraged after yet another poor showing, point fingers at Erik ten Hag

Erik ten Hag has not had a good time at Manchester United so far. Although he did win the EFL Carabao Cup in his first season, he has struggled to get United going. The Newcastle game was a major reality test, as until now they had been scraping 1-0 victories for the most part. And fans believe that this is not the Red Devils’ way!

Some fans have even gone to such lengths to say that ‘Man U play worst football under ETH’. Since the Dutchman being at the helm of things fans claim they have not seen any identity of the club as well. Many want him gone from the club… If not, then they demand results.

Here are some of the fans’ reactions:

Meanwhile, with this loss, Manchester United dropped down to 7th in the table and could go further down to 8th if Brighton beat Chelsea on Sunday. On the other hand, Newcastle jumped to 5th, just two points behind Aston Villa. If Tottenham Hotspurs manage to beat Manchester City, Newcastle will be down to 6th.
