Lionel Messi’s hotel in Peru, where he’s staying before the match against Argentina, is surrounded by enthusiastic fans. As Peru prepares to play Argentina on October 17, a video of Messi looking out his hotel window at cheering fans has become a viral sensation. In the video, Messi waves to his fans before gazing at the large crowd outside his hotel.
Sadly, there’s uncertainty about his participation in the upcoming game because he’s been dealing with a muscle issue, which previously kept him out of several Inter Miami matches and only allowed him a brief appearance in Argentina’s last game against Paraguay.
Argentina’s coach, Lionel Scaloni, discussed his star player’s injury, expressing concerns about risking Messi’s health. He mentioned that they would decide in the coming days. He also explained why Messi played fewer minutes, citing prudence to avoid potential issues.
Despite Messi’s uncertain status, Argentina boasts a flawless record of 3 wins in 3 matches and aims for a favorable outcome against Peru. Additionally, considering Messi’s upcoming MLS season conclusion this month, giving him more time to recover is a priority for Scaloni. Nevertheless, Messi’s influence in the Argentine National Team remains substantial.
Lionel Messi’s Injury has not affected Argentina’s dominating performances
Losing a player of Lionel Messi’s ability could harm any team. Scaloni’s Argentina however, have performed exemplary without their star player in their recent fixtures. Lionel Messi’s injury has kept him out of the starting line-up at both club and International level and while Inter Miami failed to cope without the Argentine, his nation have not lost their touch after lifting the World Cup in December.

Argentina’s victory against Bolivia in the infamous Hernando Siles showed fans a dominant 3-0 win without Messi even making the squad. This was followed by a 1-0 win against Paraguay where the game was already decided before Messi entered the pitch.
Argentina showcased their strength and also the quality in the absence of their talisman. With Lionel Messi’s return, the Nation could be a serious contender for the Copa America in 2024 and World Cup in 2026
