Manchester United have reportedly signed English midfielder Mason Mount from Chelsea. The transfer has been on the cards for the past few months after Mount made his stand clear not to sign a new deal and extend his stay with the Blues.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United agreed to a £60 million package deal for Mason Mount with Chelsea. Personal terms were reportedly agreed upon with the player weeks ago. The face-to-face talks between clubs made it clear that the agreement is done. Mount becomes a new Man United player.
The Blues are set to receive £55 million guaranteed for the player. And they would receive another £5 million in add-ons. Chelsea had previously denied the Red Devils thrice and held firm on their asking price of £65 million.
Mount is set to leave Chelsea after an 18-year stay at the club. He first joined the club as a youngster and slowly played through to the top. He received his senior team debut under club legend Frank Lampard‘s stint as the manager back in 2019. In his career, Mount played 324 matches for the Blues. He scored 65 goals and has 62 assists for the club.
Mount is the seventh player to leave Chelsea so far this transfer window. Chelsea has so far parted ways with Hakim Ziyech, Kai Havertz, Kalidou Koulibaly, N’golo Kante, Edouard Mendy, and Mateo Kovacic.

Manchester United have reportedly signed Mason Mount from Chelsea for £60 million. The talks of this transfer were ongoing for quite some time and negotiations were tense. But in the end, Manu United have completed the transfer. Personal terms were agreed with the player weeks ago and he was ready for the move. Mount reportedly told Chelsea that he won’t be extending his stay at the club after 2024. The Blues have been on a selling spree so far in this transfer window for balancing their books due to the FFP regulations.
Fans are reportedly very happy as the club signs the English midfielder. They think that Man United have done a great work signing the player although they think the price was steep by justified.
