“I know who I will support when Ronaldo retires”- Fans react as Kylian Mbappe becomes second player to score hat-trick in FIFA World Cup final

After dispatching his second penalty against Emiliano Martinez in the extra-time, Kylian Mbappe became the second player in football history to score a World Cup finals hat trick. But it could not inspire them to a penalty shootout victory against Argentina in the 2022 FIFA World Cup final.
Lionel Messi gave Argentina the lead after Ousmane Dembele brought Di Maria down in the penalty box. Messi calmly placed his penalty into the back of the net against Hugo Lloris. After some intriguing play by Messi & Co, Di Maria scored Argentina’s second. The game looked well n through gone from the French team’s hand.
Kylian Mbappe had other ideas when it looked like Argentina had done its part. After dispatching his penalty to reduce the deficit, Mbappe scored just the goal of the tournament, volleying it past Martinez in Argentina’s goal. The match then went on to extra time in which Messi thought he had won it by close range, making it 3-2 on the night.
But then, in the dying minutes of the match, France was awarded a penalty for handball infringement in the box. Mbappe stood up, dispatching just like he did in his first penalty, making him the first player to score the World Cup finals hat trick since 1963.
Twitter is in total meltdown as Mbappe showcased why he is considered the next ‘big thing’ in football. Fans quickly appreciated Mbappe’s phenomenon feat, which even the greats like Ronaldo & Messi couldn’t come close to. Mbappe has now scored 12 goals in 2 World Cups at just the age of 23 years old.
