Premier League giants Chelsea and Liverpool went head-to-head against each in the Premier League today. The match ended in a goalless draw at Anfield as neither side could register a single goal. Both clubs are currently in a vulnerable position, sitting midway in the Premier League table. After today’s clash, Chelsea still stands tenth, while Liverpool jumps into the eighth position. The Merseyside club put in another forgetful performance at their home stadium as they fail to create enough chances.

None of the sides were able to seal the game despite having star-studded squads. Chelsea star Kai Havertz opened the scoring for the Blues in the 3rd minute of the first half which was ruled offside by VAR. They celebrated an early goal at Anfield but were disappointed a few moments later as Mason Mount, who received the ball first was just margins offside.

The Blues manager looked content with the performance his team put in against a struggling Liverpool side. “Our performance was good. I’m happy with the energy in the team. It’s always tough at Anfield. I obviously wanted to win, but it’s a clean sheet and a point. We move forward,” Graham Potter told BT Sports after the match.

The fans traveling to Anfield would have had more expectations from the game. Two of the biggest clubs in England drew level against each other in what could have been an exciting fixture. The full-time result was disappointing for both fan bases as Chelsea and Liverpool are in desperate need of consistent league victories.

Jurgen Klopp was forced to settle for a draw on his 1000th game. His team failed to create enough chances in Chelsea’s final third and eventually dropped points again. Klopp believed that his side started well in both halves but eventually ended up losing the rhythm. “We defended with passion rather than organization in the second half,” the German coach told BT Sports after the match ended.

Fans must be frustrated after Liverpool’s disappointing performance, as Klopp’s attack failed to threaten Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa. These are worrying times for the Merseyside club as they are off to their worst league start in the German manager’s era. This is how the fans are reacting after today’s game :
