As a tribute, a fan from Argentina did something out of the world to cement this historical moment for La Pulga. A farmer from Los Condores, Cordoba sowed a 50-hectare cornfield in his village with a massive visual image of the Argentine captain.
Maximiliano Spinazze, the crop farmer who was responsible for this extravagant plantation was proud of his work. He used a special algorithm throughout the huge field to bring out the image of Messi, which can apparently be seen from space as well. “For me, Messi is unbeatable. Now they are world champions, I am delighted this can be expressed by planting the crop”, the farmer exclaimed.
The farmer produced the images using geo-coding technology. According to a farming engineer, Carlos Faricelli, the seeds are sown in a specific pattern. This sowing pattern determines the contrast of the image, giving more clarity to Lionel Messi’s face. “I had the idea to make a code that goes in the seeders with Messi’s face as a tribute,” Faricelli said. He gave the technology to the farmer to make this project possible.
This magnificent visual has immortalized Lionel Messi’s efforts of bringing the World Cup trophy home. Along with all Messi fans, the whole of Argentina celebrated Messi’s first-ever FIFA World Cup. Some fans decided to get a tattoo, while some sowed a 50-hectare land just for the little kid from Rosario.
