“Robin Hood of Premier League; Absolute sh*te”- Fans slam Liverpool after 1-0 loss against 20th placed Bournemouth
Bournemouth held on after taking the lead in the first half to shock Liverpool
Liverpool lost 1-0 to relegation-threatened Bournemouth as they missed their chance to move up to the top four. Philip Billing scored the opener for Bournemouth in the 29th minute before Mohamed Salah missed his penalty in the second half as the Cherries held on to earn the hard-fought victory.
The loss brought Liverpool’s five-game unbeaten streak in the Premier League to an end. Gary O’Neil’s men played a committed game as the Billing’s opener brought out the fight from the Cherries in front of their home crowd. Although, their hopes for a win were almost dented when Liverpool were awarded a penalty for Adam Smith’s handball. However, Salah sent the penalty wide of the post as the home crowd burst into euphoric celebrations.
In the wake of the penalty miss, O’Neil made subsequent defensive substitutions as Bournemouth held on to win against the mighty Reds. The win came after they had bottled a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2 to Arsenal via a stoppage-time winner by Reiss Nelson away at the Emirates Stadium.

Fans react to Liverpool’s loss
The shock loss came after Liverpool’s thumping 7-0 victory against Manchester United at Anfield. The loss also meant Liverpool missed their chance to move into the top 4. But considering the slip-ups Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur provide, their hopes for a top four finish are far from over. Currently, they sit fifth in the table only three points behind Tottenham. They are one point ahead of Newcastle but the Magpies have two games in hand.
Bournemouth plays away at Aston Villa next Saturday. As for Liverpool, they play Real Madrid in a crucial UCL Round of 16 away tie as they trail 2-5 coming into the second leg.
