Former Chelsea star Mason Mounts‘ father Tony Mount was heard calling the Manchester United dressing room to be ‘home’, an action not taken lightly by the Chelsea fans as they booed both the son and the father. Mount recently switched to the Old Trafford side over a transfer worth an initial £ 55 million fee.
In the latest video released by UtdPlug’s Twitter handle, Mount’s father Tony reportedly revealed that he brought the English midfielder there as a little boy. Mount was later heard replying that it’s ‘special’. Tony was then heard saying, “Mason, this dressing room man, home mate, HOME. Who would have thought aye, when I brought you up here as a little boy.”
Mount made a shock move to Man United this summer. He was very clear about his stand with the Blues that he wishes to move out of the club after his current contract ends in 2024. But the club chose to cash in on him to prevent him from leaving for free next season.
During his long stint at Stamford Bridge, Mount scored and provided a total of 33 goals and assists respectively in his 135 appearances for the club. Although he was an overall breakthrough star for the club, Mount’s last season at Chelsea wasn’t that impressive. He made 35 appearances for the club and scored just three goals and had six assists. This compared to his stats of the year before shows his form did fall. In the season 2021/22, Mount played 53 games and scored 13 goals and had 16 assists.
Due to his poor form last season he also saw a huge dip in the playing minutes on the field. In the 2021/22 season, Mount had 3784 minutes on the ground. Whereas in the 2022/23 season, he just had 2188 minutes.

In the video, Tony revealed that he brought Mount to the Man United dressing room when he was ki and that he was happy to return to the same place again. Mount Sr., seemed giddy with the fact that Mason Mount is a Manchester Player now.
Fans slammed Mount and his father for their comments about Man United’s dressing room. Many even took to social media to express their anger on the player and his father. One fan wrote, “Mount will have half the career as Lampard had at Chelsea for United don’t care.” Another fan wrote, “The Next time he moves somewhere else he will say the exact words.” And a third fan wrote, “Cringeworthy he’s a Chelsea fan through and through.”
