Newly appointed Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has provoked reactions from fans all over the world for his position on which is the more successful club in England. The Argentine chose his employer over Pep Guardiola‘s treble-winning juggernaut Manchester City.

Pochettino said it was fairly easy to agree for the Chelsea job. Calling Chelsea the greatest Premier League team of the last decade or so, he said, “It was easy to say yes to Chelsea. We’ll work hard, play in a way the fans can enjoy football. The history of Chelsea is to win and be at the top. We can’t have up and downs. In the last 10, 12, 15 years, Chelsea is the greatest team in England.”

Mauricio Pochettino established himself in the top division of English football long ago thanks to successful runs at Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur. Pochettino’s hiring has raised expectations that the club may have finally found the proper candidate to bring development and order to West London.

Pochettino also reveals the owner Todd Boehly’s clear vision for the future. “From the beginning the owners were very clear about the project,” Pochettino said. “We were very excited also to show them we are here to try and help the club and fans. The most important thing in football is for them to be happy and proud of how we approach games.” Pochettino has signed a two-year contract for Chelsea, as he looks to transform the club.

After Graham Potter and Frank Lampard failed to get the Blues firing in 2022–23, Pochettino became the club’s fourth manager in the past year. Chelsea struggled despite of the owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali’s constant spending. All eyes will be on the Argentine as they wonder if he can manage the talent at the club and get them firing on the domestic front.

According to Rudy Galetti, Chelsea, and Moises Caicedo have reached a personal agreement before his prospective summer transfer to Stamford Bridge. The Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder is Mauricio Pochettino’s primary target, and he wants to join the Argentine’s team, claimed the Italian journalist. The Blues want to pay £80 million to get Caicedo.

The journalist quoted, “I was told in the past that Pochettino wants the Ecuadorian midfielder. He’s the main target for the new Chelsea manager. Chelsea, in these last days, have been a little bit more focused on outgoing transfers. After, they will go deep on the Caicedo deal to try to make the last steps. “No issues on the player side. All terms have already been agreed with Moises, who is keen to join Chelsea.”

Mateo Kovacic and N’Golo Kante have just left Chelsea. The Blues also saw Jorginho depart for London rivals Arsenal in January, so it is clear that they need to make changes in the midfield. It makes sense that Pochettino wants to bring Caicedo to Stamford Bridge given how the Ecuadorians played last season and their comparable playing styles.
