Tottenham Hotspurs have reportedly sacked interim boss Cristian Stellini. This decision was taken after the clubs 6-1 defeat against league rivals Newcastle United.
Stellini was Antonio Conte’s assistant coach. He was given the duty of the interim coach after the club terminated Conte’s contract with mutual consent. Talking about the employment of Ryan Mason in a recent interview, after the match when asked about the club’s performance, Daniel Levy said, “It was devastating to see. We can look at many reasons why it happened and while myself, the board, the coaches and players must all take collective responsibility, ultimately the responsibility is mine.”
The club issued a statement right after the announcement of the sacking of the interim boss Stellini. The statement read, “Cristian will leave his current role along with his coaching staff. Cristian stepped in at a difficult point in our season and I want to thank him for the professional manner in which he and his coaching staff have conducted themselves during such a challenging time. We wish him and his staff well.“
Ryan Mason will take over Head Coach duties at Tottenham, after the sacking of Cristian Stellini. In the club’s statement, Ryan Manson’s name for the job was announced. In the statement, Daniel Levy said “Ryan knows the Club and the players well. We shall update further on his coaching staff in due course“.
Ryan Mason’s appointment comes at the tensest of the situation as Tottenham are to face Manchester United on Friday. For Tottenham victory is the only way to keep their top 4 hopes alive in order for them to compete in the Champions League next season. Tottenham are fifth in the Premier League and they would look to better their position under their new coach Ryan Mason.

Fans look to be relieved and supportive with Spurs’s decision of sacking Cristian Stellini. Many have shown their satisfaction with this decision in their Social media. One fan wrote, “Obviously the worse interim coach so it was very needed lol “. While another fan wrote, “Not often a caretaker gets sacked. Then again the one from my school probably would have done better, and she’s been dead 20 years”. And a third fan wrote, “He looks like Graham Potter anyways… but with less hair and look face”.
