Barcelona and Real Madrid have played out an entertaining first half in the AT&T stadium in America. The two clubs have started with strong sides. Both Spanish clubs look to play for pride despite the fixture being a pre-season friendly. Barcelona led at half-time owing to a goal by Ousmane Dembele.

The match did not have the build-up of a friendly and it showed. As the first half was quite dramatic. The Catalan club started the stronger of both the teams, as they converted their earlier chances. In the 15th minute, midfielder Pedri found Ousmane Dembele, with a beautiful pass and the Frenchman scored to give Barcelona the lead.

Real Madrid resumed with the kickoff and decided to put pressure on the Barcelona half, having gone a goal behind. This came to fruition as Real Madrid were awarded a penalty only two minutes after Barca scored. A handball occurred inside Barcelona’s Penalty area and the result was a penalty. Vinicius Jr. stepped up for Real Madrid.

However, Vinicius smashed his penalty onto the crossbar and Barcelona’s lead survived. Real continued to press, with Barcelona comfortable in allowing them to do so. By the end of the first half both the teams piled on more chances. However, none of those chances were converted since Dembele’s 15th-minute goal.

Here’s how fans reacted to Ousmanne Dembele’s goal

Barcelona fans went wild after Dembele’s goal. Fans heaped praise on the winger and wished that he stays with the club. Plenty of praise was seen for Pedri too, for providing that beautiful assist. Real Madrid fans were unhappy with the halftime score, and expectedly so.

Barca fans also trolled Jude Bellingham. However, he was backed by Real fans who praised his performance. Twitter was a digital battlefield for both sets of fans as the first half ended. Here are all the reactions-

As both teams gear up for the second half, Barcelona will look to continue their display and walk out with a win. Whereas, Real Madrid will hope that they can convert their chances and score to eventually win or at least draw the game.
