After winning the 2022-23 Carabao Cup and beating Barcelona in the Europa League last week, joy just doesn’t seem to end for Manchester United. The Red Devils carried forward their momentum and registered yet another iconic victory in the 2022-23 FA Cup, defeating West Ham United 2-1 in the fifth round on Thursday.

Despite conceding an early goal to West Ham United in the 54th minute, thanks to a great strike from Said Benharma, Manchester United didn’t lose hope and gave it their all in the second half. After Casemiro’s goal in the second half was turned offside, the Red Devils netted three goals to make a spectacular comeback. Interestingly, they didn’t even need their man-in-form, Marcus Rashford, in the match on Thursday as while the first goal came as an own goal in the 77th minute, Alejandro Garnacho’s stunner in the 90th minute and Fred’s beautiful strike in the additional time made sure that United returned home happily.

With this, Manchester United also kept their hopes alive of possibly winning a quadruple this season as after winning the Carabao Cup, they are still in contention for winning the Premier League, FA Cup, and the Europa League. Additionally, United are now 11 games unbeaten and are now in the quarterfinals of the 2022-23 FA Cup.

Just when things started to look gloomy for United after the goal from Said Benharma, the Red Devils unleashed their warrior mode and showed why they are one of the best sides in Europe this season. They capitalized most of their chances in the second half and also showed cool and calm defense across the back line.

Manchester United are next scheduled to play against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday in the Premier League. After pulling off a successful heist in the Carabao Cup, it will be intriguing to see if the Red Devils, under Erik ten Hag, will be able to give some tough fight to Arsenal, who are currently 11 points ahead of them, having played a match more.
