Game week 14 approaches and Fantasy Premier League managers are again scrambling as the deadline nears. Injuries, players returning after injuries, sudden drop in form, and so many things will affect how an FPL manager can set up their team.
This Game Week is set to entertain, with 3 big fixtures. The first is Manchester United traveling to St. James’ Park to face an in-form Newcastle United on Saturday night. Followed by Chelsea taking on Brighton at Stamford Bridge, and Tottenham Hotspur locking horns against the defending champs Manchester City.
Apart from the obvious captain picks of Erling Haaland, Mohamed Salah, and Heung-min Son, managers could try to experiment and select these players as their captains. Meanwhile, managers also require a new replacement for the injured Alisson and Maddison, who are set to be out till January.
The deadline of GW 14 is:
- 8:00 am ET
- 1:30 pm GMT
- 7:00 pm IST
Transfer tips for GW14
There are injuries across the 20 teams in the league, so keeping that in mind these are some important players to look out for in case the FPL managers want one:
- For Alisson owners (12.3%), here are budget-friendly goalkeepers with promising returns. Caiomhin Kelleher (LIV – GK) at £3.9 steps in for the Brazilian keeper, facing easy fixtures against FUL, SHU, and CRY. David Raya (ARS – GK) at £4.9 has favorable matchups against WOL, LUT, and AVL.
- Trent Alexander-Arnold (LIV – DEF) at £7.9, though costly, is a must-have with his upcoming fixtures. Kyle Walker (MCI – DEF) at £5.3 remains reliable despite conceding 5 in the last two matches, as City faces TOT, AVL, and LUT.
- Bryan Mbuembo (BRE – MID) at £7.0 is in good form with upcoming fixtures against LUT, BHA, and SHU. Alternatively, Hwang Hee-Chan (WOL – MID) at £5.6 might face a strong defense initially but has favorable matchups with BUR and NFO afterward.
- Erling Haaland (MCI – FWD) at £14.0, arguably the best FPL asset with 14 goals, faces TOT, AVL, and LUT. On the other hand, Darwin Nunez (LIV – FWD) at £7.6 should be worth considering given Liverpool’s easy fixtures.
Top 5 captain picks for GW14
Ahead in the upcoming Premier League matches, certain players stand out for earning managers more points when given the captain’s armband.
- Mohamed Salah, Liverpool vs FUL (H); Price – £13.0; Total points – 106; Form – 7.7
- Erling Haaland, Manchester City vs TOT (H); Price – £14.0; Total points – 103; Form – 8.0
- Bukayo Saka, Arsenal vs WOL (H); Price – £8.8; Total points – 79; Form – 5.0
- Bryan Mbuemo, Brentford vs Luton (H); Price – £7.0; Total points – 76; Form – 3.0
- Darwin Nunez, Liverpool vs Fulham (H); Price – £7.6; Total points – 55; Form – 2.7
Differentials to look for
Tino Livramento has finally started to play for Newcastle as they deal with injuries. With only 0.6% of owners owning him, and his low prices, he is a good option. Along with him, Kristoffer Ajer will be a good option as Brentford go through an injury crisis. Raya and Kelleher should be the perfect differentials to pick.
Luiz Diaz and Morgan Gibbs-White are good differentials, as they have comparatively easier fixtures. The two cost £7.4 and £5.7. Gabriel Jesus returns from injury and will most probably start, whereas Chris Wood will start for Forest as Taiwo Awoniyi deals with an injury.
