FIFA has announced that the next iteration of the Club World Cup would be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. After inspecting the facilities of the city, FIFA decided that all the matches of the tournament would be held in Jeddah.
Earlier this year in February, FIFA announced Saudi Arabia to be the host nation of the tournament. Although the announcement of which city of the country would hold the matches was not made until now.
The President of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, Yasser Al Misehal, was reportedly very excited to know that his country would be hosting a major tournament later this year. Talking about FIFA’s decision, Al Misehal said, “Sport is a key driver of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing transformation under Vision 2030. has established the Kingdom as one of the fastest growing and most exciting countries in world sport. We believe hosting international events like the FIFA Club World Cup provides an opportunity to grow the game further and inspire new and existing fan. While it’s showcasing to the world Saudi’s hospitable culture and a huge passion for football.”
Manchester City would be participating in the tournament for the first time as they beat Inter Milan in the early parts of this month to win their first UCL title. Al Ittihad would also be one of the seven participants to be in the tournament. The club has recently been the talk of the town as they bought two top European stars, Karim Benzema and N’golo Kante, to join them. Al Ittihad was also the crowned champions of the Saudi Pro League this season.
Al-Ahly, Leon, Urawa Red Diamonds, and Auckland City are the four other teams who would participate. Only one more seat at the tournament’s table is left and the participant is yet to be decided.

Croatian defender Josko Gvardiol agree on personal terms with Manchester City this summer
Manchester City has agreed on personal terms with RB Leipzig and Croatian defender Josko Gvardiol. Gvardiol burst into the scenes during the 2022 Qatar World cup as a ball-playing defender with impressive defensive capabilities. Real Madrid was linked with the player last year although nothing concrete ever came through between both parties.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Gvardiol is interested in a move outside Germany. Man City is interested to acquire his services for the next season. It is going to be another shrewd purchase by the Blue side of Manchester. Pep Guardiola is looking to convert John Stones into a spare midfielder as Gvardiol’s defensive capabilities will surely help the master tactician unlock new levels with his juggernaut of a team.
The reports claim that talks are advancing between both clubs to find a solution as soon as possible. Leipzig is reportedly interested in making Gvardiol the costliest defender. The German club is expecting a bit earning €100 million to make this deal happen.
