Also, the tournament kept the fans on the edge of their seats to make them curious that anytime and anything could happen. Records were broken with a lot of upsets that made people aware of rising new nations.

Every team that played in the group was on top with either 5 points or 7 points out of the maximum possible 9 that could have been achieved. France could not defend their title this time out and lost to Lionel Messi-led Argentina who won the World Cup after 36 long years.
