Former Manchester City manager says only one player of the current English National team would fit in his ‘Golden Generation’ team

Sven-Goran Eriksson names only one player that he seems is fit for the England national team.

Sven-Goran Eriksson has said in his recent interview with Boyle Sports that he would only pick one English player to fit into his “Golden Generation” team. His team was known as the ‘Golden Generation of the English national team, it had the likes of David Beckham, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Paul Scholes, and Wayne Rooney.

He said, “If there was one player, I’d love to him have playing for me from this current England team, it’s very easy, Harry Kane. He is a golden goalscorer, wherever he plays and you always need that. He’s not only a goalscorer, he’s a target player, he can make assists, he’s big, he’s a good header, good feet, he’s strong, not the quickest in the world but he’s quick.”

Will Harry Kane be able to bring the World Cup back home this time?

Harry Kane during an international match.

Kane aged 29, already has scored 50 goals for the Three Lions in 74 appearances he has made for them, he has been a regular starter in Gareth Southgate’s team after having made his England debut way back in 2015. Despite having a prolific striker like Harry Kane, the English national team is currently struggling and is badly out of form in the ongoing Nations League.

Having picked up just two points from their five matches, fans are starting to worry about their chances at this year’s world cup which is just two months away. Fans would be hoping that Kane finds his form as soon as possible, and so does Eriksson who also said, “He has everything and he could be the one who wins the World Cup for England and maybe he’ll be the top goalscorer at this World Cup.”
