France are through to the Final of 2022 Qatar World Cup, but this certain dream was fading away as Les Bleus started their campaign with a huge list of injured players.
The names on the injury list were to have huge impacts on their road to World Cup but against all odds the defending champions roared through. The French National team injury list included, Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante, the magical midfielders.
They were said to be the most valuable midfielders to the team. Next up, the 2022 Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema, was ruled out of the World Cup following an injury in training. He is now expected to join the squad and even figure in the final. He is now in active training.
Lucas Hernandez was the next one to fall out of the squad, taking a hit in the opening match against Australia, injuring his knee. It was confirmed as an ACL injury. French national team’s goalkeeping depth also took a hit as AC Milan’s Mike Maignan was ruled out due to a calf injury. Defender Presnel Kimpembe and midfielder Christopher Nkunku also picked up injuries ahead of the World Cup.
Despite missing out on plenty of squad members, France remained confident and backed their strength behind their star Kylian Mbappe. Mbappe has netted 5 goals with 2 assists in the 6 games he has been a part of in the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

Moving ahead, France knocked out Poland and England with a 3-1 and 2-1 1-2 victory respectively. The defeat against an African country earlier caused speculations before France faced Morocco in the 2nd Semi-Final of the 2022 World Cup.
France did not hesitate against Moroccan magic like Portugal and Spain in the knockout stages, they defeated Morocco 2-0 to book their seat in the second consecutive Final to face one of the greatest players in the history of football, Lionel Messi.
