Gabby Logan slams FIFA President over his ‘just push the doors’ remarks on women’s football, calls them ‘patronizing’

Gabby Logan, the popular BBC reporter, has strongly criticized current FIFA president Gianni Infantino for his reductive and controversial comments during the Women’s World Cup. Logan perceived Gianni’s statement as disrespectful as it told women to “pick the right battles” and not to indulge in men’s football games.

The 2023 FIFA World Cup showcases the potential of the illustrious gameplay and capability of women footballers, to become role models to the aspiring generations. FIFA president, Gianni Infantino commented on the encouragement of choosing the battles wisely.

Logan labeled Infantino’s remarks as ‘reductive and ridiculous’ as she gathered the support of the sentiments of many who believe that men and women should be discriminated on the football world. The backlash intensified as former baller, Ellen White, a former England striker.

Gianni Infantino commented, “Pick the right battles. Pick the right fights. You have the power to change. You have the power to convince us, men, what we have to do and what we don’t have to do. Do it. Just do it.”

He further added, “With men, with FIFA, you will find open doors. Just push the doors. They are open. And do it also at the national level, in every country, at the continental level, and in every confederation.”
