Vincent Kompany vindicated on Cristiano Ronaldo comments
The Burnley manager had an interesting thought process regarding Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure from Old Trafford. The title winner with Manchester City commented on the saga while working as a pundit for the BBC.
Kompany believed Erik Ten Hag would prosper with the exit of the club’s star man.“I think in the end everybody loses except perhaps the Man United manager.” stated the Burnley boss. “I think it is a problem that has been resolved and they will move on from this.”
When asked if he would take the Portuguese at Turf Moor, Kompany replied, “We need players who can run.” The five-time Champions’ League winner would go on to move to Saudi club Al Nassr.
Following their recent win over Middlesborough, the Clarets have just gone on to secure automatic promotion with seven games to spare. It seems as though Vincent Kompany’s thinking on Ronaldo might have been vindicated, with his Burnley side set to play in the Premier League the upcoming season.
