Gerard Pique and Shakira officially put up their Barcelona house on sale after separation
Shakira and Gerard Piqué
The split of Shakira and Gerard Piqué, who have two children together, has been a major topic of conversation, as they recently announced their decision to put their Barcelona mansion up for sale. Initially, it was supposed that the former footballer would move into the house after the singer left for Miami, but instead, they have opted to get rid of anything that tied them together, including their Esplugues de Llobregat residence.
Spanish journalists Laura Fa and Lorena Vazquez, also known as the ‘Mamarazzis’, have reported that the parents of Milan and Sasha have finalized a deal with a real estate company to market the property. The stipulation is that the home should only be viewed by those with true financial ability, rather than just any curious individual.
Gerard Pique and Shakira commissioned the construction of a minimalist-style residence in the community of Esplugues de Llobregat in 2012. With a reported cost of nearly $1,000,000, the five-floor home has a unique significance for the couple and their relationship.
Shakira and her children are relocating to the United States following a custody agreement with Gerard Piqué
Pop sensation Shakira is reportedly relocating to Miami with her children following her split from long-term partner Gerard Pique. The exes have reportedly come to an arrangement over their sons Milan and Sasha, with the two issuing a joint announcement to entertainment portal TMZ that declared, “We have signed a custody agreement.” “Our sole objective is to provide our children with the utmost security and protection and hope that they can continue with their lives in a safe and calm environment,” they added.
Shakira is preparing to make the move from Barcelona to Miami next year with her children. She already has a family living in Miami, and parted ways with her partner, Spanish footballer Gerard Pique, back in June after 11 years of being together. The couple began dating after meeting at the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
Shakira described her recent separation as the “most difficult time” of her life in a conversation with Elle magazine in September. “I’ve remained quiet and just tried to process it all. It’s hard to talk about it, especially because I’m still going through it, and because I’m in the public eye and because our separation is not like a regular separation,” she said.
