In the song, many speculated to be aimed toward the former FC Barcelona captain, she used lyrics like, “you traded a Rolex for a Casio“. Just days after her diss track, Pique made a deal with Casio for sponsorship with his Kings League.

In the song made with Bizarrap, Shakira used the Casio line suggesting that Clara Chia is a Casio watch and she is a Rolex watch. Fans were waiting for Pique’s response on the track; on Friday, he did not disappoint his fans. Just like Shakira used her breakup with Pique as a business opportunity, the former Barcelona captain is doing the same. A deal has been made with Casio as Gerard Pique announced that King’s League has a new sponsor. Notably, the Spaniard is the president of the tournament organized by famous Spanish and Latin American streamers.

In the latest stream featuring Pique, he revealed details about the new deal. He said, “Casio has sent us wristwatches. We reached a sponsorship agreement with Casio, and the King’s League struck a deal with Casio,” on a live stream.

Interestingly, Pique said, “This watch will last a lifetime,” after showing off his Casio watch on the live stream. In reply, fellow streamer Ibai Llanos was bewildered by Pique’s obvious dig at Shakira. “You must be joking“, said Ibai while the former defender gave everyone in the stream a Casio watch.

A song by Shakira dedicated to her ex-partner Gerard Pique has garnered over 63 million views in just 24 hours. That has made the track the most-watched Latin song in that period.

The lyrics were aimed at Pique and his girlfriend. Translated in English, she said, “lots of time at the gym, but your brain needs a little work too“. Comparing the relationship, she sang, “a Ferrari for a [Renault] Twingo” and a “Rolex for a Casio“.

“You thought you’d hurt me, and I came back stronger. Women don’t cry anymore; women invoice. ‘From love to hate, there’s only one step’, before Shakira adds: “No hard feelings baby, I wish you the best with my supposed replacement,” Shakira sang.

The pair share two children, both boys, Milan and Sasha. They announced their breakup in the Summer of 2022 (June), requesting privacy on the sensitive topic. “We regret to confirm that we are separating. For the well-being of our children, who are our utmost priority, we request respect for (our) privacy,” a released statement by the couple read after their breakup. Pique and Shakira dated for 11 years.
