The Spanish manager complained about Marcus Rashford’s offside positioning in United’s build-up to their first goal. Pep also revealed that he had lost hopes of winning the Premier League and the Carabao Cup with City.

“We played really good, our levels against them, they were an incredible threat, incredible counterattacks. But I congratulate the team, it’s a pride to come here and play with this personality, they run behind us and expect one action and punish us in transitions,” Guardiola spoke to BT Sports.

Manchester City has now lost consecutive games for the first time this season. After a disheartening 2-0 defeat against Southampton, Guardiola’s side failed to cruise past Erik Ten Hag’s side. “I don’t care about the Premier League and Carabao Cup. We cannot win. We won [them] a lot. It’s not a problem. The problem is we perform like we have done“. Pep Guardiola added.
