“He does not deserve it”- Former Spanish manager hits out at trolls for ‘unfair’ treatment of Barcelona star Gerard Pique

After Gerard Pique was whistled by fans during his team’s 3-0 victory over Villarreal on Thursday, Spanish writer Rubén Ura defended the defender strongly. In the 78th minute of the LaLiga game at Camp Nou Gerard Pique came on for Jules Kounde to the jeers of his own supporters.
In response to the boos he had encountered upon entering the arena, another section of the audience made an effort to surround him, praising his every move and singing his name.
Rubén Ura stated “Whistling Piqué is unfair. He does not deserve it. He lost his starting place, he appears in the photo against Inter Milan, and he earns the contract they signed him on. If the club needs to let him go, then they should do it the right way, how he deserves.”
“In preseason, I asked for unity,” Xavi said in a interview when asked for his opinion on the whistling of Pique. “It’s a moment to be united: the squad, the staff, the board, the fans, media.
“Whether he plays or not, the only thing I ask from Pique is that he is an example in the dressing room — and he is a gleaming example.
“I am saying this because he deserves it. He has never shown a bad attitude [when not playing]. He is an example as a captain and the fans should know that.”
The year 2022 is not favorable to Gerard Pique
A contemporary great of the game is Gerard Pique. And he lives a regular existence surrounded by news stories and rumors.
