“He is not someone who sits back”- Former Manchester United player backs Cristiano Ronaldo’s deliberate ignoring acts against Jamie Carragher
Ronaldo greets his former teammates before the match.
Manchester United player Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t start the match and played only 5 minutes having come from the bench at the end of the game. His team was absolutely spot on as they beat bitter-rivals Liverpool in the Premier League clash on Monday night. Yet again Cristiano Ronaldo was on the news regarding a situation that happened before the start of the match.
It is still uncertain whether or not Ronaldo will play for Manchester United in the ongoing season but something funny happened when Ronaldo came to greet Roy Keane and Garry Neville and paid no attention to Jamie Carragher in return. This funny video went viral in a matter of seconds after the end of the match and Rio Ferdinand chose to speak about the situation saying it was bound to happen someday.
The trio of Keane, Carragher and Neville are presently working as pundits for Sky Sports. Ronaldo had a warm exchange of words with both Neville and Keane who were his former teammates at Manchester United but he completely ignored Carragher. Keane asked Ronaldo at that moment about his name not being in the starting eleven and in reply, Ronaldo said, “What do you want me to do?”
Carragher has criticized Ronaldo over the years and even again chose to mock both Cristiano Ronaldo and Harry Maguire saying, “Those two will be really disappointed. Maybe Maguire just needs to come out of the firing line. If I’m being honest, I don’t think ten Hag wants Ronaldo around the place. As soon as he’s got options, he’s put him on the bench. In two weeks’ time, I think he’ll be gone.”
Jamie Carragher has bashed Cristiano Ronaldo several times in the past
Carragher has previously slammed Ronaldo a lot of times for his decision to serve Manchester United at such an old age. And after the incident in the last match, Jamie Carragher hit back on Twitter stating that the reason for Ronaldo not shaking hands with him as he was right from day one.
He also said that Erik Ten Hag’s decision to start Ronaldo on the bench in a crucial game like this also justified his anger. He also joked about the incident on Twitter, stating that he was blanked by his good mate. He said that it was Ten Hag, who had given the custard pie to the Man United talisman for not selecting him in the starting lineup.
He later tweeted saying, “I get a custard pie for getting it right on Ronaldo from day one! The custard pie for him from ETH shows the Manager thinks the same!! Maybe the ex-Man United Legends will now agree with me.”
