Others claimed that Manchester City might even be suspended from the football league altogether.

Manchester City also faces the possibility of being stripped of their three Premier League titles won during the period. However, reporter Kaveh Solhekol from Sky Sports have claimed that most people expect a ‘small points deduction’. The Premier League’s ‘Big Six’ Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham have demanded the harshest possible punishment for City. They claimed that a monetary fine won’t be much for the current title holders as the club is backed by a state-funded multibillion-dollar entity.

Manchester City were handed a two-year suspension from the European club competitions in 2018 after UEFA claimed that City had ‘serious breaches’ in the Financial Fair Play regulation between 2012 and 2016.
