Cristiano Ronaldo has always been a Nike athlete. The Portuguese signed with Nike in 2003 and was the face of the brand for many years. He has donned almost 70 shoe models of the company. However, recently Ronaldo was seen wearing Adidas gear in a pre-season friendly against Celta Vigo.

The superstar was seen donning Adidas shin pads as he booted up for Al Nassr against Celta Vigo. This can be seen as a significant breach of contract by Nike chiefs. Ronaldo could face grave consequences from its sponsor for being seen in rivals’ gear. Nike will certainly not drop their star man over this instance but can act on this.

Ronaldo’s contract with Nike could be affected as well. Although he has a lifetime Nike contract, which was signed off by the parties in 2016- some amount of monetary punishment could be imposed on Ronaldo. Ronaldo’s lifetime contract is rumored to be around $1 Billion, and would not be majorly affected though.
