Georgina Rodriguez, the partner of Cristiano Ronaldo, is the protagonist of a Netflix show called ‘I Am Georgina.’ Interestingly, as per some latest reports, the kind of marketing strategy she used to promote the show has flabbergasted everyone. The influencer model successfully converted a whole billboard into 200 handbags which she sold and distributed for the show’s promotion, a thing that is believed to have worked, at least in terms of viewership.

The show’s first season was released in January 2022 and it focuses on her life as a model, mother, influencer, and businesswoman. It’s similar to the immensely popular show, ‘The Kardashians.’ While the show received a negative critical response, it had strong viewership mainly because of Ronaldo’s huge fan base. Thus, Netflix renewed it for another season. The second season was released on March 24, earlier this year.

For the promotion of the show, the marketing team at Netflix used an interesting strategy. A huge billboard was put up in Madrid advertising it. However, things turned interesting when the team ripped out the billboard and turned it into 200 handbags. They were all given out for free. The only thing required to get the bag was to tweet a picture of the poster.

Georgina appeared in numerous TV shows promoting the handbag increasing interest in it. She is known to be a huge collector of bags. Therefore, fans got excited about it, thus giving the show more viewers.

Portuguese actress Helena Isabel recently criticized the most recent season of the Netflix series featuring Georgina Rodriguez, the girlfriend of Cristiano Ronaldo. In a recent interview on TVI Extra, she was asked for her thoughts about the show.

“She is a very nice woman. I like the way in which she deals with the kids. I really like what she shows most of the time. However, I was quite disappointed with the second season of her series. I thought it was a failure even though I liked the first season of it,” she said in the interview.

The actress continued and also stated, “Look, I was waiting and waiting for something, perhaps, this has to do with a lot of my expectations. In the first, she gave a lot of herself, gave a lot of their lives and the second was super futile. I do understand that a person who likes valuable things does not have to be labeled frivolous. Still, I thought it was very superficial. I was waiting to see other things. I found it frivolous, honestly.”

This opinion might be shared by a lot of people as the show has barely a 4.1 rating on IMDB. However, the show still garners a huge viewership and is likely to get renewed for another season. It will be intriguing to see if Netflix brings yet another show starring Ronaldo’s partner or not.
