“He’s gaining on us”- Twitter reacts as Tottenham Hotspurs destroy Arsenal in Premier League 2021-22 to close the Champions League spot gap to one point

Tottenham Hotspurs eased past north London rivals Arsenal to give their top-four hopes a huge boost in a heated derby that saw the Gunners reduced to ten men. Spurs closed the gap on fourth-placed Arsenal to just one point after an emphatic 3-0 win in the north London derby on Thursday.

The hosts were given a golden opportunity to take the lead in the 22nd minute after Cédric Soares pushed Son Heung-min over inside the area, with Harry Kane stepping up to send Aaron Ramsdale the wrong way.

Things went from bad to worse for Mikel Arteta in the 33rd minute when defender Rob Holding was sent off for a second bookable offense after blocking off the run of Son with his shoulder. Kane then doubled Tottenham’s advantage moments later, heading home at the back post after Rodrigo Bentancur had flicked on Son’s corner.

The half-time break appeared not to help Arsenal’s situation as Son made it three moments after the restart, tucking into the bottom corner after the ball had fallen into his path following a failed clearance from the Arsenal defense.

Here are some reactions from the fans on Twitter as Spurs humbled Arsenal at home with one point separating both the side for Champions League qualification:
