“He’s in a much better place” – Jordan Peterson recalls helping ‘friend’ Cristiano Ronaldo overcome his mental struggles
The Manchester United forward shared a photo with the renowned right-wing psychotherapist earlier this month on Instagram. In the message, Ronaldo referred to Jordan Peterson as a “friend,” which sparked outrage online. Because of his contentious social beliefs, Peterson has developed a sizable online following.
The 60-year-old discussed meeting the five-time Ballon d’Or winner in a footage that was released to Twitter while he appeared as a guest on “Piers Morgan Uncensored.” Ronaldo’s close friend Morgan commended Peterson for standing by the 37-year-old. In April, Ronaldo and his partner Georgina Rodriguez revealed that one of their newborn twins had passed away.
“It seemed to me, talking to him in the last couple of days after he saw you, he’s in a much better place,” Morgan told Peterson. He then responded: “That’s what happens when you hang out with reprobate like me.”
Jordan Peterson visited Cristiano Ronaldo to his house at his invitation
Peterson continued by describing his encounter with Ronaldo at his house and their conversation. He claims that the two-hour conversation covered both financial and personal objectives. “He invited me to come and see him,” Peterson continued. “He’d had some trouble in his life a few months ago and a friend of his sent him some of my videos and he said he’d watched those.“
“Then he read one of my books and found it helpful, he wanted to talk. I went out to his house and we talked for about two hours. He showed me all his equipment for staying in tip-top condition, we talked about his companies. Mostly we talked about what he wanted in the future and some of the obstacles that he’s facing.”
When Morgan compared Peterson to Ted Lasso, a fictional football manager, for helping Ronaldo find what he wanted, Peterson responded: “Maybe he did realise to be missing it because he found it to some degree in those lectures and I always like to hear what people are up to and what they want.”
