“I always knew the day to congratulate you would come”- Pele’s message to Real Madrid’s Rodrygo after his brilliant Champions League performance against Manchester City

Having scored an incredible brace to send Real Madrid to the Champions League final, Rodrygo was recently congratulated by Brazilian icon Pele. The Real Madrid winger received appreciation for his role in the Los Blancos’ incredible 6-5 aggregate win over Manchester City in the Champions League semi-finals.

With his brace, Rodrygo became the first-ever player to score two 90th-minute goals in a Champions League knockout game, and just the second substitute to score a semi-final brace in the competition, after Georginio Wijnaldum for Liverpool against Barcelona in 2018-19.
