“I am similar to Lionel Messi”- Arsenal player praises the playing style of both the PSG star and Cristiano Ronaldo

Arsenal’s new signing Fabio Vieira has recently talked about two the modern greats, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Fabio has impressed all the Arsenal fans with his skills and the input he brings to the side. He hasn’t had the greatest of starts due to his injury but his last week’s performance against PSV at the Europa League has got people talking.
He exclaimed, “I am similar to Lionel Messi” and goes on to speak volumes in appreciation for the Argentine. He says that he is a great admirer of Messi’s playing style and also feels that it’s the same as his playing style as well. He also talks about Cristiano Ronaldo’s work ethic over the years which has impressed him.
Vieira is a great midfield quality to have on your side and is renowned for his technical ability and ball-holding capability all around the pitch. He isn’t a regular starter in Mikel Arteta’s team but after the performance against PSV last weekend, Arteta will have a hard time thinking about whom ahead of him to start now that the Portuguese is fully fit.
What did Fabio Vieira say about the qualities of the two greats?
Fabio said, “The two biggest influences for me are Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. Ronaldo not because he is Portuguese, but he is really someone who really inspires others with his work ethic, how he had to leave his family and his comfort zone to sign for Sporting, and for him to build the career that he has built inspires everyone.”
He added, “Messi is more to do with my style of play. I am similar to Messi and I appreciate the way that he plays.” After a couple of injury-stricken months and a hard beginning to life at his new club, Vieira shall now be fully focused on maintaining his fitness and adapting to the plans of Mikel Arteta as soon as possible.
