“I believe I need to do more,” Lewis Hamilton and LeBron James inspired Vinicious Jr. to launch an Education campaign for the underprivileged in Brazil
Vinicius Jr. is a representative of Brazil’s exceptional new generation of talent, which appears to be peaking just in time as they head into Qatar as heavy favourites to win a record-breaking sixth World Cup. In his fifth season with the Spanish giants, the 22-year-old elevated himself to a world-class level by scoring the game-winning goal for Real Madrid against Liverpool in the Champions League final and finished eighth in the Ballon D’Or voting last month.
Vinicius established a foundation that is building schools in underdeveloped areas and funding research to find new ways to enhance Brazil’s educational system. “I believe I need to do more. I see how athletes like Lewis Hamilton and LeBron James do good and I want to do the same, help people in many ways,” Vinicius said. “Education is important because not everyone can become a player. Many try, but not all succeed.”
“So I try my best to help the people in Brazil to continue improving and evolving as a person. If they focus with the right guidance, we can get more people going to the university, more doctors, more professors… better professors,” he added.

Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr is the most fouled player in Laliga this season
Vinicius expressed concern about getting hurt prior to the World Cup. He has been fouled the most in La Liga, 10 times more than Getafe’s Enes Unal, second on the list. He believes that his rivals targeted him because they knew he was a member of Brazil’s World Cup squad. “What happens on the pitch stays there, but it got out of hand. You can go in hard, but they were dirty,” Vinicius commented.
“Rodrygo and I suffered a lot in recent games and we feared the worst, getting injured and missing the World Cup. When you start to become an important player, the opponents go after you harder and you have to learn to take it. I learned a lot from Neymar when he was at Barcelona, he suffered a lot too. Just like Cristiano when he was at Real Madrid.”
