Real Madrid on Sunday suffered a disappointing loss against Valencia by 1-0 in the opponent’s home stadium Mestalla. Los Blancos were unable to score a goal till the end of 90 minutes. Diego Lopez scored a goal and led Valencia to victory. But Vinicius Jr with the defeat sadly had to face racism in that match and many players including the former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand stand with the Brazilian.

The homes fans targeted Vini Jr and shouted racial chants. The young Brazilian was shocked by this behavior of the fans. He took this to Instagram and posted a photo of him in black and white. Even the manager and other Madrid players were very disappointed by the racial chants from the fans.

Many players including Rio Ferdinand have commented on the racial comments that Vinicius Jr faced last Sunday. Rio on his Twitter commented, “Bro you need protecting….who is protecting @vinijr in Spain?? He receives a red card after being choked and receiving racial abuse during the game….wtf.”

He further added, “How many times do we need to see this young man subjected to this shit?? I see pain, I see disgust, I see him needing help…and the authorities don’t do sh*t to help him. People need to stand together and demand more from the authorities that run our game. No one deserves this, yet you are allowing it. There needs to be a unified approach to this, otherwise, it will be swept under the carpet AGAIN.”

Vinicius Jr expressed his feelings on Instagram

After the racial incident everyone was disappointed with the home fans and Vini Jr who was the target expressed his feelings on Instagram. Soon after the match ended the Brazilian posted an image of him in black and white. To express what had happened to him.

He captioned, “It was not the first time, not the second, and not the third. Either racism is normal in La Liga. The competition is normal, the Federation is also encouraged and the opponents are encouraged. I’m so sorry.”

The player further wrote, “The championship that was owned by Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Cristiano, and Messi, was two racists. A beautiful nation, that I embrace and that I love, more than oil, to export the image to the world of a racist country.”

He further added, “I’m sorry for the Spaniards who don’t agree, but today, not Brazil, Spain is known as a country of racists. And, unfortunately, because of everything that happens every week, I have no way to defend myself. I agree.”

The player has got support from his teammates, managers, and many other players. He is receiving sympathy from his fans via Instagram and Twitter.
