FC Barcelona manager Xavi has admired former Real Madrid footballer James Rodiguez and confessed that he always wanted him to play at the Catalan club. James Rodriguez played for Los Blancos for three significant years after joining them in 2014. The Barcelona manager was impressed with the quality of the player. He wanted see him in the Barcelona colours.

It’s a shame that James Rodríguez played for Real Madrid and not Barça, I wanted to see him play for Barcelona. He has a lot of quality and talent, he was capable of scoring great goals from any distance,” The Barcelona coach expressed his desire to bring James to the Blaugrana side.

James Rodriguez had a splendid career during his peak years. The most electric player of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, gave fans across the globe a lot of moments to cheer for. He also played a crucial role at Bayern during his time in the Bundesliga.

The current man-in-job for Barcelona, Xavi Hernandez also seems to settle in the league with a very promising squad. They currently lead the La Liga table. Real Madrid are just 3 points behind them.

However intense the competition be, it is fair to say that both Spanish teams have found their form this season and are led by two very elite football personalities as managers.
