“I’d love to bring Cristiano Ronaldo to Arsenal”- Piers Morgan amidst rumors of the Portuguese star leaving Manchester United this summer
According to reports, renowned journalist and Arsenal fan, Piers Morgan, wants Arsenal to sign Cristiano Ronaldo for the next season as he is ready to leave his old club Manchester United for the second time. The Portuguese have one year left of his contract at the Old Trafford but his side couldn’t qualify for the Champions League and thus there is the possibility that he will prefer a side that will play in the UCL next season.
Morgan feels that Cristiano Ronaldo will definitely fit into Mikel Arteta’s side as he has the right quality and is a prolific goal-getter which will help Arsenal to stay strong in the Champions League.
“If you combined the United talent with our mentality, both clubs would be sorted,” Morgan said. “I’d love, I’m not even joking, to bring Cristiano Ronaldo to Arsenal. If he’s not going to stay at United, I will take him in a heartbeat.”
“I’d be very happy if Arsenal’s forward line next season was Martinelli, Nketiah, and Cristiano – the perfect mix of youth, pace & GOAT class talent/experience”, Morgan tweeted about Ronaldo’s possible move to Arsenal.
The 37-year-old Portuguese superstar had a tough season in his old destination after being knocked out from the champions league next season and couldn’t get any trophy for the fifth consecutive season.
The Red Devils bought an ex-Juventus man last summer in the hope to end their trophy drought but despite Ronaldo’s strong performance, the club didn’t get close to any glory. Morgan always wanted to see Ronaldo playing for the Gunners but they missed out on him when he was 18 before signing for the Red Devils back in 2003.
Arsenal might target Cristiano Ronaldo as they look to progress in the Champions League next season
Cristiano Ronaldo joined Manchester United hoping to help them win trophies but failed to qualify for the champions league which might affect his career. Arsenal is in the race for the fourth spot as they take on, fifth-placed, Tottenham on Wednesday. Morgan, a Gunners fan, thinks Ronaldo should join Arsenal to play UCL next season.
Eric ten Hag joined the Red Devils as their new manager and it is doubted that Ronaldo won’t make it into his playing XI. He had a tough season despite scoring 24 goals in 38 games and being the top scorer for the Red Devils this season. This season, he single-handedly took his side to the Champions League knockout stage, yet failed to progress further from the Round of 16.
