Speaking to TyCSports, he said: “A team in which I’d like to play? I’d love to play for Real Madrid one day, it’s a top club. Every player dreams of wearing that shirt but I have a lot of respect for PSG and I’m happy here.”

However, while talking about his ambitions of playing for the Los Blancos, Paredes also stated that he is “happy” representing PSG at the moment and the team and its manager, Pochettino, want him to be a part of the ongoing project.

“Every year they say on the press I’m gonna leave PSG… but I’m happy here. The club wants me, Pochettino too”.

What are Leandro Paredes’ chances of playing at Real Madrid right now?

Paredes is one of a number of midfielders who will be made available for transfer this summer by PSG, who simply have too many players in that area of the field. He has managed only 15 Ligue 1 appearances this season and is someone that they feel is expendable, however, hints at deficiencies in his game that mean he is not of that certain quality to play for Real Madrid, at least at the moment.

Instead, it is likelier that he moves to Serie A, where there was competition for his signature when he moved to PSG. Either way, the French club can expect to make a sizeable loss on the €47 million they paid to Zenit St Petersburg for his services, which has been another example of their haphazard transfer policy.
