Joana Sanz, former Barcelona player Dani Alves’ wife, filed for divorce after Dani Alves was arrested for an alleged sexual assault case. Dani Alves was in prison since January 20. The incident happened on the night of December 30. Joana Sanz requested a face-to-face visit to finalize their divorce. However, Alves refused to meet and later called her from prison. He pleaded with his wife to stop the divorce, saying, “doesn’t want to lose her and loves her very much”.
Journalist Leticia Requejo, who has been keeping close tabs on the alleged breakdown of the couple’s marriage, claimed that Joana Sanz had asked for a divorce. “Dani Alves tells her that he knows the decision she has made to divorce,” Requejo stated further. Joana also told Dani Alves that she wants a face-to-face meet so he can give his explanation as well. “So that he can give her the necessary explanations,“ Leticia informed.
Leticia also confirmed that they will meet face-to-face outside of prison, as Joana Sanz wants to listen to Dani Alves. “Even if the decision is firm, Joana does want to listen to him, to tell her and comment on things. She is willing to wait, It will not be in prison, it will be tomorrow when Dani Alves leaves prison “.

The Spanish model denied the information that she was going to ask Dani Alves for divorce in the prison. “It’s clear that if they don’t have news, they make it up,” Joana said, mocking the Spanish TV who claimed the information. She also claimed that she did ask to meet Dani Alves, however, the reason was not clarified yet.
She clarified soon that she will be stating information directly through her social networks, “I want to make it clear that the recent information about things I said is totally false. I did not contact any media or journalist. When I have something to say, I, Joana Sanz, will do so via a statement on my social networks.”
“Everything else is speculation. I appreciate the concern, but at this moment there is a process underway that deserves not to be intoxicated,” Joana Sanz stated further, requesting privacy during the ongoing controversy.
The former Barcelona wingback is currently under custody under molestation charges in Spain. He was detained by the authorities when we travelled to Spain to attend his mother-in-law’s funeral earlier this month. According to local law enforcement, Dani Alves had forced himself on a young woman during Christmas week.
