Manchester United face new injury setback, with Luke Shaw out of action for months
Manchester United face a new injury setback after their first-choice right-back Luke Shaw has been ruled out for a couple of months due to a muscle injury. The English left-back injured himself during the win against Luton Town, and there are concerns he might miss the remainder of the season.
The 28-year-old full-back was replaced by Victor Lindelof just before half-time in Sunday’s 2-1 victory at Luton, following uncertainties due to a previous injury. With limited appearances this season, he returned to action only in January.
This setback is concerning for both Manchester United and England manager Gareth Southgate, compounded by the absence of their second-choice right-back, Tyrell Malacia, who is also injured. This could lead to midfielder Sofyan Amrabat filling in during their absence.
