Lionel Messi has equalled the record for the most goals in Europe’s top five leagues. Following Paris Saint-Germain’s victory over RC Lens in the Ligue 1, the Argentine has now scored 495 goals in the top five leagues. This feat took him just 572 appearances to achieve.
PSG ran out of comfortable winners against second-placed Lens. The league leaders were under a bit of pressure from Les Sang et Or. However, they have now opened up a nine-point gap between themselves and their nearest challengers. Goals from Kylian M’bappe, Vitinha, and the Argentine were enough to win all three points for the home side at the Parc Des Princes.
The Parisian side is very close to securing yet another league title. PSG need only 13 points from their remaining seven league matches to win them their 11th league title in their history.
