Inter Milan qualifies for the final in Istanbul
Inter Milan defeated AC Milan in the second leg of the Champions League semifinal by three goals to nil over two legs to secure their spot in the Champions League final. The Simeone Inzaggi-led team became the first Serie A team to reach the Champions League final since Juventus in 2017. Lautaro Martinez enters the scoring party with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Edin Dzeko who scored two in the first leg.
Inter Milan was already leading the match with an aggregate of 2-0 in the first leg. Lautaro Martinez sealed the win for Inter Milan in the second half taking the lead to three. Romelu Lukaku found the Argentine inside the box, who took a powerful grounded shot to end it behind the net. Milan shot-stopper Mike Maignan did not cover himself in glory either as the ball squeezed between him and the first post that he was to be guarding.
AC Milan kept more possession but the results spoke differently. The Stefano Pioli team could only register five shots, without finding the back of the net. The Simone Inghazi team recorded 14 shots on target while scoring one.
The second leg of the Champions League witnessed a couple of yellow cards and scuffles. Romelu Lukaku also got involved with Fikayo Tomori in the last few minutes getting the later to receive a yellow card. Inter Milan qualifies for their sixth Champions League final in Istanbul, after winning their last, more than a decade ago in 2010.

Fans’ reaction to AC Milan’s defeat to Inter Milan
Inter Milan defeated AC Milan by a score line of 3-0 in the second leg of the Champions League Semi-final. The goal by Lautaro Martinez was enough to put the final pin on the coffin. Fans took to social media to troll AC Milan after the defeat in the Champions League.
Fans called AC Milan a ‘bitch’ of Inter Milan after Nerazzurri defeated the Rossoneri in both legs of the Champions League. Some Fans didn’t take a step backward to troll Oliver Giroud. The Frenchman who had a formidable performance in the World Cup was trolled by fans. One fan commented, “you are garbage. Giroud! You belong in the conference league.”
Lautaro Martinez’s goal was also hailed by fans on social media. The Argentine who failed to convert good chances time on again in the world cup scored a brilliant goal from a difficult angle beating Maignan. A fan went on to comment, “we didn’t see this version of you at the World Cup.” Fans even hailed Romelu Lukaku calling him for a ‘Ballon d’Or’ push’
Inter Milan will face the winner of the second leg between Manchester City and Real Madrid. Inter Milan will be playing their sixth Champions League final since 2010 in Istanbul.
