Iran reportedly planning an attack on the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, suggests Israeli Military Intelligence Chief

According to Major General Aharon Haliva, the head of Israeli Military Intelligence, Iran is planning to attack the 2022 FIFA World Cup going on in Qatar because of the growing protests against women’s rights in the country. As per Haliva’s conference, Iran might be planning on disrupting the prestigious sporting event but might hesitate because it’s taking place in Qatar.
Aharon Haliva attended a conference at the Institute of National Security Studies (INSS) this Monday when he opened up about the tense situation present in the country of Iran. “Iran is considering disrupting the World Cup 2022 in Qatar. However, the only thing preventing them-what will be the Qatari’s reaction?” Haliva added.
These heavy claims and allegations by the Israeli military chief have put many supporters at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in unrest. During their first game against England, Iran players also decided to stay quiet during the national anthem as a message to support the protests taking place back in their country.
While football fans enjoy a month of FIFA World Cup football, Iranian people are protesting outside in their streets against Iran’s regimes against their women. The Iranian people have been protesting against the government for months.
2022 FIFA World Cup: Iran national team goes silent during the national anthem in match against England
The Iran national team did not hold back from protesting against their government and its strict regimes against women. The entire starting-11 refused to sing the national anthem before they played their opening match of the 2022 FIFA World Cup against England.
As far as the result goes, Iran lost their first fixture of the 2022 FIFA World Cup to European giants England by a big margin as the three lions thrashed them 6-2 at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha. It was a night filled with goals for the English youngsters who helped their country cruise part Iran to secure the top spot in Group B.
Iranian fans had to leave the stadium disappointed after Southgate’s men put 6 goals behind their net. The Iranian side played well and had a strong structure throughout the game, but was still nowhere near England’s squad.
