Argentina suffered a major setback in this FIFA World Cup in Qatar as they lost the match 1-2 to Asian side Saudi Arabia. Lionel Messi and his men left was the second-best team on the field and they never really came close to finding the back of the net. Saudi’s defenders and goalkeeper were on a mission today as they made history by beating Argentina for the first time.

Argentina was left stunned by Saudi Arabia in their opener as Saudi Arabia shocked the entire world and turned the odds in their favor. Argentina was unbeaten in their last 36 matches over the last three years and they went took the lead through Lionel Messi’s ninth-minute penalty and ended the first half with a dominant show.

Having failed to convert their first-half chances, Argentina was paid to pay in the second half as Saudi Arabia equalized through Saleh Al-Shehri with a left-foot strike into the far corner. Just five minutes after, Salem Al-Dawsari introduced himself to the entire world by slotting a curled effort into the top-right corner.
